Homemade: A Photographic Series
Constructed and found dollhouses reconstructed to resemble houses built in the 1960s through to present day by Italian immigrants to Canada, specifically in and around the Toronto area. The interiors and exteriors of these houses reference the houses of my Italian relatives (i.e. the addition of arched facades). Photographic elements have been incorporated throughout the fabrication of the houses and especially with the inclusion of the dollhouse figures, miniature figures of family members. These miniature sets are created and photographed with a medium format camera. Currently 16” x 20” colour prints, presented as diptychs and/or triptychs. A few images have been printed on Duraflex 4’x4’.
